2027 Deacon Nominations

We will begin taking nominations for the 2027 class of EM deacons next Sunday, October 19! Please prayerfully consider potential nominees. The office of deacon is for those who desire to care for the practical, tangible needs of others and support our pastors and church ministry. Deacons are blessed to have a front-row seat to the daily life of the church and witness God working through His people.

Nomination window: October 19 - November 2.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 27 years of age as of January 1, 2027.

• A full member of the church in good standing for 3 years as of January 1, 2027.

• They have demonstrated exemplary faith, character, and spiritual ministry (1 Timothy 3: 8-13).

Can you verify the candidate’s character and gifting is in accord with the duties of a deacon:   

• An Active Deacon, chosen by the Church as a volunteer, shall be a member of the Board of Officers, who serves the Church in partnership with the Pastors and Elders, charged with overseeing all ministries of the Church, visiting, comforting, encouraging, and praying for the Church Members.  

• In addition, the Active Deacon bears the responsibility to conduct all work necessary in preparation for and conduct of worship, fellowship in love among Church members, implementation of plans, necessary business matters of missions within and outside of the Church, work relating to faith and Bible study training, various business matters for relief and community services, collection of Church offerings, and management and preservation of personal and real property as well as other assets of the Church (Acts 6: 1-3).
